 More about me

Hi! Thanks for considering working with me. I look forward to working with you and getting to know you.

My name is Carla. Originally from Bolivia, I have lived in the Washington, D.C. metro area since 2002. Driven by natural curiosity, I enjoy learning from people with diverse perspectives and exploring subjects I don’t yet understand. I have eclectic tastes and wide-ranging interests, including art, music, nature, anthropology, film, genealogy, history, Jungian psychology, meditation, mythology, philosophy, and yoga.

My Professional Background

My career has been focused in Human Resources, supporting local, national, and global organizations. I partner with employees and leaders across Talent Development, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, and Performance Management.

Between 2017 and 2022 I paused my HR career to provide career-related support to people facing significant barriers to employment. In that role I guided dozens of individuals from diverse backgrounds through the full employee lifecycle - from career exploration and resume development to performance improvement and long-term career planning - helping them increase economic mobility.

I hold an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), earned after comprehensive training in Transitions and Wellbeing with the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). I also hold an Advanced Certification in Team Coaching from ACT and Brown University.

My Coaching Practice

I adhere to the Code of Ethics of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance (NEDA), the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

I am open-minded and respectful. I provide a confidential, safe space and work from a compassionate, person-centered, non-judgmental, strengths-based, and trauma-informed perspective.

I believe everyone has a valuable role in life and the capacity to choose their own path. I work with clients aged 18 and older from a wide range of backgrounds and lifestyles.

Some clients are single; others are partnered or married. Some are parents; others are not. Employment status varies: some are currently working, some are job-seeking, and some are retired. Past and present occupations among my clients have included administrative assistants, artists, business owners, coaches, energy healers, executives, homemakers, managers, mediums, retirees, and students.

Whether or not any of the examples above resonate with you, I would love to work with you!
